The Board of World Mission is supported in a variety of ways: through the provincial giving by local congregations, Society for Promoting the Gospel of the Northern Province, the Mission Society of the Southern Province, the Larger Life Foundation, and through investments. Together these sources cover roughly 70% of the Board’s ministry, covering the Board’s personnel and administrative costs as well as a significant portion of the grants we make to our partner provinces and other organizations with which we partner. However, another vitally important source of support are donations made to support the new initiatives the BWM is now implementing to strengthen the Moravian Church’s self understanding as a “mission movement – we send people!”
Therefore we offer you the following opportunities to donate to the Board of World Mission mission work:
General — a donation here allows the Board the greatest flexibility to insure that particular initiatives in need of funding to expand, will receive it.
Likewise AIDS Ministries — a donation here helps to expand the Moravian Church’s strong and active commitment to AIDS work in various provinces of the Unity.
Adopt-a-Village, Please contact the BWM office directly at 610-868-1732 to find out more specific information regarding this program.
The Antioch Project — a donation here helps to grow the capacity of the BWM to give to our young people mission opportunities that will shape their leadership skills in the coming years. This particular initiative in time will provide the leadership foundation necessary for the North American Moravian Church to be a vital witness in the 21st century.
Moravian Volunteer Resources — a donation here insures that the BWM can respond effectively to disasters nationally and internationally, especially where these disasters occur within the Unity. MVR has been the basis for the incredible number of teams that have gone to serve in Mississippi, and the BWM wants to continue this ability to help mission teams serve in this way with small grants, so donations to MVR insure that the BWM can do so.
