- Seven Moravians Die in Accident
This report is coming to you in reference to the automobile accident on Thursday, 15th of July at half pass four PM that took the lives of seven people of the Moravian Church.
The young people of the Central Miskito Church of Bilwi were on a religious mission having been invited by the young people of the Rio Coco District tojoin them in a week-end religious conference. Near to the Likus bridge about 40 minutes to Waspam the vehicle turned over and and seven people lost their lives, including the Moravian Pastor by name Harold Cleban 40 add years, pastor of the community of Ariswatla,Samuel Daram 23 years, Julio Enrique Espinoza 16 years, Lamborth Benjamin Vargas 21 years, Johnny Mercado 20 Years, Shada Canicha 7 year old girl, Ronny Ivan Espinoza 20 years.
Shada, the seven year child, was buried today, the others yesterday.
Two of the seriously injured were taken by air to Managua and a few of the less injured are in the hospital of Waspam and here in Puerto Cabezas. An urgent need is to have the help of psychologists to walk with the 40 and more injured along with the families that lost their loved ones. Presently the driver Elery Fenley 34 years has been released to me by the chief of police under house arrest, while the case is fully investigated. He is in a schock and asked why did he not die, for this burden is too heavy to carry.
